BJD Photo Contest 1/12
Decadence

October 1st – October 29th


Well my friends, I know most of you were waiting for this. Contests make DA go 'round. Time to get our time to shine, isn't it?

Well to be more specific, it's YOUR time to shine.

As you may have noticed, there are some numbers up there. 1/12. Yes. There will be twelve contests in total. What that means for you is this: Each contest will run for approximately a month. That will give you all lots of time to get your ideas, props, sunny days or lamps together to create your interpretation of the theme. This round's theme is Decadance. There are few requirements outside the fact these images must feature one or more of your (or a friend's) Balljointed dolls. There are no bars on what type of doll you may enter. This contest will be judged on your photographic ability, and your creativity with the theme and the medium you are presented with.

Image requirements

I cannot stress enough that it is a requirement that you have a high resolution copy of your image available if you have not uploaded the high quality version to DA. More on that below, but it is imperative. What does high resolution mean? It means at LEAST 2400x3000pixels. If you do not want to upload that monster to DA, that's fine. But keep the image because if you win, it will be required that you give it to me as part of one of the final prizes.
You may enter more then one image, but you may not enter multiple images from the same photoshoot. Each image must be created for this contest. Please do not enter an image that you took three months ago that you think may fit this theme. It's not fair to the contestants who are going to put every effort into creating fresh images for the contest. When you submit your final image, please note me with a link to it and the indication that it is an entry for the contest. I may not have you on watch, or I may not know that your new deviation is supposed to be for the contest. So let's make it crystal clear with a note.

Prizes

1st Prize:
Part of the first prize is the guaranteed entrance of your image into a BJD photo book project slated to be complete and released 12 months from now.

A 8x10 Matte or Glossy print of their choice from my gallery if they so choose.

One Full Body Colour Illustration of your doll by



A graphic you may post in your journal as a note of your accomplishment.

A Feature in 's journal



A 1yr Subscription




2nd Prize:

The entrance of your image into the photo book at the end of the contest as well as a 4x6 matte or glossy print of your choice from my gallery

3rd Prize:

The entrance of your image into the photo book contest for this cycle's theme.

If you would like to donate any prizes to the contest, I say the more the merrier. Just note me.

Judges

Judges for Cycle 1 are:



The guest judges may change each cycle. That way judges can take the opportunity to join one of the other cycles one month, or take a break and judge another month. I, however, will always be one of the judges.
We will set up voting for the finalists, and of the top entries, the judges will decide the top prize winners and the runners up for each competition.
